SAFARICOM GRADUATE MANAGEMENT ENGINEER JOBS

Graduate Management Engineer Jobs Kenya.

In line with the business need to fast-track and develop qualified engineers,
the holder of the position will go through an 11 month rotation program in
all divisions within Safaricom.

The rotation will expose the individual through a combination of functional
exposure, work assignments, project management and formal training with an
aim of making innovative suggestions and/or recommendations on assigned projects
in an effort to improve the business while maintaining compliance with ISO standards.

Key responsibilities(engineer jobs) will be to:
    * Work Assignments on Rotation - Undertake various projects and work assignments
        with an aim of:
  •   Continuously improving operations processes & procedures in the business during the rotation;
  •   Enhancing the compliance of policies and procedures to ISO standards;
  •   Preparing and update of all business data accumulated during projects/tasks;
  •  Analysis and advice on requirements and impact of introducing new services  and technologies to  assigned projects;
  •  Innovation – Critique internal mechanisms & work processes with an aim of:
  • Identifying policy and process shortcomings and/or loopholes during the rotation programme and  give value-adding recommendations;
  • Providing innovative suggestions of handling various business needs/processes and challenge policy where necessary;

Minimum Requirements of engineer job:
  • Graduated between 2011-2012 in B.Sc./B.Tech (1st class or 2nd Upper Honors) degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer engineering with bias towards telecommunications;

Senior Customer Systems Analyst

Reporting to Manager; Customer
Systems, the holder of the position
will provide leading expert solutions
and technical guidance in
administration, service provision,
and availability of all Safaricom
customer facing applications .
This position will involve liaising with
other Information technology teams
and vendors to offer quality IT
services to the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Service Availability :
Define and monitor data and
application availability for all
customer systems and applications
and reports .
Offer advanced administration of
customer systems and applications.
Document and update processes
and procedures in use for customer
systems and applications ;

INCIDENTS AND PROBLEM
RESOLUTION :
Provide expert management of IT
application incidents , root cause
analysis, management of problems
and closure of recurring incidents ;

TESTING NEW SYSTEMS FUNCTIONALITY :
Create system requirements for
support, and testing of new
products and systems functionality.
Create high quality supportability
requirement.
Test the achievement of
supportability requirements on
systems are delivered by vendors;

RESEARCJ & DEVELOPMENT :
Participate in renowned research
forums, and initiate ideas that
improve system availability , and
performance ;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
*University Degree in IT or Computer
Science or related field ; MSC /MBA
will be an added advantage;
Microsoft certification: MCSD/
MCDBA;
-Advanced Unix /Linux certification ;
*Oracle Siebel Certification;
*Tibco Certification;
-Oracle certification in database
administration or application
development;
*5 years experience in a networked ,
dynamic IT environment ;
*3 years Software development,
Database administration , and or
advanced Support Experience ;
Unix scripting , PL-SQL and MSSQL
skills;
*Highly developed analytical thinking
skills;
*Ability to role –model and lead
customers and fellow team
members.

Reporting to the Senior Manager –
Advertising, the job holder will be
required to work in partnership with
assigned departments and the
advertising agencies to ensure that
the Advertising strategy is executed
in line with the Business strategy.
As a custodian of the Safaricom
brand, assist in development of
Strategy, positioning, look and feel
for various customer segments as
well as manage all advertising and
promotional material for the same.
This role also aims to provide
support, guidance and best practices
in advertising management,
advertising competitor analysis and
developing marketing collateral for all
channels of communication in
assigned business segments.

THE JOB HOLDER'S KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
* Management of the Creative Agency
to deliver according to strategy and
manage the creative process to
ensure delivery of above the line,
below the line and digital advertising
materials for execution.
* Internal coordination of advertising
and promotional briefs to deliver
world-class advertising. Proofing final
artwork and securing endorsement.
* Innovation in Advertising practice
and programs: understand the
consumer issues from research and
learning and apply back into the
advertising practices; Analysis of the
industry and competitor issues as
well as benchmarking in other
industries to stay abreast of issues.
* Budgeting and cost control:
Ensuring that Safaricom procurement
policies are adhered to as well as
agreed costings and processes;
monitoring and reporting on the
performance of the Agency and
expenditure of the advertising
budget to drive increasingly efficient
ROI
* Prepare activity reports. Manage
and monitor electronic, print and
digital outdoor advertising for
Safaricom; prepare advertising
studies for the group and manage
the back up of advertising materials.
The ideal candidate should
possess the following:
* A business related degree.
* Experience in an Advertising
function with a focus on brand
management, advertising,
promotions for at least 6 years.
Advertising agency experience will be
a strong advantage.
* Strong creative and conceptual
skills.
* Attention to detail with excellent
interpersonal and communications
skills
* An excellent planner and organizer
* Highly results and performance
oriented.
* Excellent Negotiation/Influencing

Senior Officer – Employee
Wellness

Reporting to the Head of Department
Employee Shared Services, the
successful candidate will provide
Employee Wellness Services across
the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Monitor employee leave monthly
while ensuring historical and balance
reports are available;
* Manage through self Service,
correction and tracking of employee
usage of leave benefits in line with
legal and employment act
requirements;
* Analyzing leave liability and liaising
with Finance on accruals of the same;
* Launch sports programs to all staff,
with an annual calendar that includes
a companywide sports event and
with a close monitoring of the sports
budget;
* Have functioning club committees
that are responsible for enrolment
and participation of staff, monitor
and control respective budget use;
* Coordinate the activities of the
choir and related payments;
* Organize, coordinate and manage
the annual staff party (Safaricom
Anniversary) for all staff;
* Increased staff awareness and
utilization of the HIV /AIDS Program;
* Manage all medical related
queries / cases for new staff, interns
and vendors;
* Liaise with the Principle reward
Manager during evaluations of
tenders for the medical and life
insurance;
* Provide counseling services or
coordinate the provision of
counseling services to staff;
* Provide communication on medical
concerns like Pandemics;
* Providing employees with
information related to Health and
Safety;
* Overall Management of the Crèche,
Medical Centre and Gym Services that
includes review, service level
agreements and payroll.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Degree in Business Management or
related field;
* Knowledge and business acumen
from a total of 8-10 Years work
experience in a large commercial
organization of which 4-5 years
should be within the HR function
directly in, or closely supporting,
executive and/or line operations;
* Minimum of 4 years in resolution of
complex employee relation issues;
* Demonstrate competence in more
than 2 HR technical functions;
* Proven track record of project
management (including the
coordination of multiple internal and
external resources);
* Experience of working with
corporate client groups;
* Experience in a people
management role (e.g. supervisory or
management);
* Excellent communication skills (oral
and written);
* Excellent influencing and
negotiation skills;
* Demonstrate flexibility and
adaptability to changing business
conditions.

REWARD OFFICER JOB:SAFARICOM CAREERS

Reward Officer

Reporting to the Senior Manager –
Reward & Recognition, the successful
candidate will administer the payroll
function and ensure accurate and
timely payment of staff salaries.
Staff cost budgeting & forecasting,
trend analysis & reporting, and
monitoring of all staff cost lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Payment of Salaries and other
Statutory deductions as well as
ensuring compliance and timely
disbursement of all Statutory
payments and returns
* Ensure that payroll is processed for
all contract staff on a monthly basis;
* Ensure that payroll for interns and
casual staff is processed on a weekly
basis;
* Provide payroll/overtime/
timesheets check reconciliations;
* Process loan documentation for
staff;
* Provide Support in processing the
main payroll that will include
timesheets and Benefits;
* Respond to all Payroll queries from
Contract and Intern staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* A degree in Social Sciences/
Business Administration from a
recognized university;
* 1-2 years generalist experience in
Human Resources Management;
* Excellent knowledge and hands on
working experience in operating
Microsoft;
*Office suite- Ms Word, Ms Excel, &
Payroll program, preferably Oracle;
* Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills with ability to
network and establish effective
working relationships across the
company;
* Confident, highly organized,
conscientious and detail oriented
person.
